Happy women’s day!

This symbolic date, the 8 of march, should normally even not exist. But we live in 2023 and that’s how it is. Women do not have equal rights as men, yet. So as a committed brand, not only for the planet but also for people, we feel it is our responsibility to raise awareness and support gender equality and women's empowerment, especially in the merchandising industry and business world as a whole.

At Merchery, we are proud to have a diverse team of female employees, customers and suppliers who inspire us every day. On this special day, we want to highlight the talented and innovative women behind some of the coolest brands featured on our website. Meet them now.

Steph Hon from Cadence

“I am enamored by objects that are intuitive, created with integrity, and deliver on promises – when you find an object that does all three, they deliver a feeling.”

Steph Hon, is the founder and CEO of Cadence, a company that produces stylish, leakproof, customizable, and sustainable travel toiletry containers.

Her inspiration for creating Cadence came from her personal consumer needs. She’s this type of person that finds herself always on the move, across towns or between countries and facing this pain point of transporting her personal care products while on the go. If it wasn’t the heavy second bag or the fear of leaks and spills, it was the general discomfort of buying single use plastics and their negative impact on the environment. She wanted to create a solution that would be as easy and practical on the go than home. That’s why & how she created Cadence.

At Cadence, Steph and her team have a lofty mission – to eliminate single-use plastic from the personal care industry. As a brand, they build intuitive movement solutions for the modern-day consumer. Their first product, the Cadence capsule system, is the next generation way to carry your health and wellness products while on the go. Could be vitamins, sunscreen, shampoo, jewelry or anything else you need when you’re moving from one place to another. The capsule, an hexagonal container, is made from a blend of recycled ocean-bound plastic and material scraps, with each one containing 50% recycled material. The patented design is uniquely customizable, leakproof, magnetic, BPA-free and TSA-compliant. Morevover, the company ensures 100% recyclable packaging to replace single-use alternatives.

The commitment of the brand is to offer a useful good quality product with a beautiful design without compromising our planet.

The Cadence capsule system will soon be available in our catalogue.

Millie & Taylor from Stakt

“As the world around us changed, so did our workouts…Stakt was born out of a love for sweating and a need for adaptation. Our ‘at-home workout’ was no longer just a weekly yoga class to wind down, and we needed a fitness mat that could keep up.”

Life has changed in countless ways over the past few years, transforming many of our daily routines forever. Millie and Taylor also adapted their work out from home and they quickly identified that their yoga mats were not supportive, adaptable or appealing enough to support their new fitness regimens.

Stakt is a brand that offers a versatile mat for yoga, workout, pilates, and other exercises. One of the key features of the Stakt mat is its stackable design, which allows for easy storage and transportation. This design also makes it convenient for fitness studios and gyms to store large quantities of mats in a small area. The Stakt mat is designed to provide superior grip and support during exercise, with a non-slip surface and ample cushioning. It comes in two sizes to accommodate different body types, and a range of colors and patterns are available to suit different tastes.

Overall, the Stakt mat is a functional and convenient option for anyone looking for a versatile mat that can be used for a variety of exercises. Its stackable design and eco-friendly materials make it a great choice for yogis, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to practice their exercises in a sustainable and convenient way.
