1. PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.” We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier.
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
Additionally when you request a quote through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, company name, email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Contact Information.” When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Contact Information.
2. HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION ?
We use the Contact Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the form (contacts with our suppliers, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Contact
Information to: Communicate with you; Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; Provide any additional services you have requested, such as our marketing communications; and Provide you with help and assistance via our support team;
When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services. We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
3. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits Merchery’s users who are California residents to request and obtain from Merchery, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) Merchery disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which Merchery shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. If the user is a California resident and would like to make such a request, s/he should submit his/her request in writing to Merchery using the contact information provided below.
If the user is under 18 years of age, resides in California, and has a registered account with the Site, s/he has the right to request removal of unwanted data that s/he publicly posts on the Site. To request removal of such data, the user should contact Merchery using the contact information provided below, and include the email address associated with his/her account and a statement that s/he resides in California. Merchery will make sure the data is not publicly displayed on the Site, but the user should be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from Merchery’s systems.
4. POLICY FOR CHILDREN
The Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13, in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Merchery does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without such consent, we will promptly take steps to delete the information from our records.
Parents or guardians who believe that Merchery may have collected information from their child under 13 can contact us to request the deletion or modification of such data. Merchery is committed to ensuring the privacy and protection of all users, particularly minors.
